What we ask when you call

Three questions tell us what to load on the truck so the sliding door is usually fixed on the first visit.

"How many panels, and does the moving one drag or jump?"

Drag means rollers. Jump means track. Both means both, and both ride on the truck already.

"How old is the sliding door, roughly?"

Doors from the 1970s to today use standard roller and lock sizes. We carry all of them. Very old or custom units get measured on the visit.

"Is anything cracked or foggy in the glass?"

If yes, we measure on the first visit and set new glass on the second, impact-rated where the code requires it.

Bedside manner

Four rules every Door Doctor tech works by

1

Repair before replace

A sliding door gets a new part before it gets a new frame. If we recommend replacing, we show you the reason on the sliding door itself.

2

Price on paper first

No verbal ballparks. You see the full number and approve it before a single screw comes out.

3

You test it, then you pay

One finger should move the panel and the lock should catch on the first pull. If not, we are not done.

4

No add-ons at the sliding door

We fix what you approved. Anything else we find goes on the checkup sheet for you to decide later.

Before you call

Sliding door repair questions people ask the Door Doctor

Can I just lubricate the track myself?

You can, and it helps for a week. If the sliding door is heavy because the rollers have flattened, spray only hides the problem and packs grit into the bearings. Vacuum the track, skip the lubricant, and let us look at the wheels.

Do you work on impact and hurricane sliding doors?

Yes. Impact sliding doors use heavier rollers and specific glass. We carry the rollers and order the glass to the exact panel size with the correct rating for your county.

The other company said the sliding door has to be replaced. Do I need a second opinion?

Get one. Most replacement quotes we are shown are for sliding doors with worn rollers and a grooved track, which is a repair. If the frame really is finished, we say so in writing.

What if you cannot fix it on the first visit?

Glass and custom parts are measured on visit one and installed on visit two. Everything else is on the truck. If we cannot fix your sliding door at all, there is no charge for the checkup.

Do you handle condos, rentals and HOA buildings?

Yes. We bill owners or property managers directly and can coordinate with building management for access and insurance paperwork.

Book the house call. Your sliding door will not heal itself.
